Biography
David began his career in the Home Office, working across a number of operational and policy areas including asylum, gangs, and counter terrorism. He has worked in the Policing Minister’s private office and on police reform, setting up the Police Pay Review Body, before moving into Serious and Organised Crime policy at the Cabinet Office. He joined the Department of Health and Social Care in 2016 to work on the cyber security of the NHS, and since then has helped to shape the approach to improving cyber resilience across health and care. He is now Head of Cyber Security Policy and Strategy in the Joint Cyber Unit, a multi-disciplinary team drawn from both DHSC and NHS England with the mission to assure and improve the cyber security of health and care organisations.
